Panthera pardus kotiya. Lives only here, and nowhere on the island is it easy to photograph. In Block 1 the animals are used to jeeps; everywhere else you are working on tracks, alarm calls and luck.
Roughly a third of these frames came from four animals I have followed since 2019 — the Kumbukkan female, her two surviving daughters, and the big male the trackers call Neluma.
Ten per cent of every print sold funds collaring and camera-trap work with the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust. Since 2021 that has come to just over $14,000.
